Review of “City of Glass” Book 3 of the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

For me, book one was tough to get into and I didn’t think I would like this series but had to give book two a try.  I did and liked it far better than the first book so I moved on to book three.  I am so happy that I did because…NOW I am hooked!  In book 3 of the Mortal Instruments we discover that their is a third instrument that Valentine is looking…the glass mirror.  I won’t tell you what it turns out to be because it’s so great when it’s revealed in the book.  The Lightwoods, Simon and Jace head to the City of Glass leaving Clary behind.  But of course Clary is not going to stand for that and good thing too because a heroine would never be caught staying home while others battle to the death.  In finding her own way to the city, she drags Luke along and gets herself into immediate trouble.

The adventure within the glass city is one of intrigue, discovery, intensity and fear.  There are moments in the book where I was literally at the edge of my seat so eager to find out what was going to happen.  The book was very well written and my love for the characters has solidified in this book.  I can now say unequivocally, I really like this series and would recommend it to others.

If you read my post for book 2, I indicated that I has a suspicion on the parentage of Jace and Clary and I would like to say…I was right and I’m so happy about that because now the love that began to bloom in book one is now ok and we are able to be elated and not grossed out by Jace and Clary loving each other.
