Review of “Full Exposure” By Tracy Wolff

This is a story about a woman coming to terms with her tragic past and facing her demons.  She does this by moving forward with her life while still being dragged back into her past involuntarily.  Serena is a survivor.  She is strong to a fault and tries to ensure that she only needs to block out her emotions and fears and not let anyone close enough to break through the shield that she has built around her heart and secure inner sanctum.  That inner sanctum is about to come tumbling around her as her next assignment is supper Hot sculptor Keven Riley.

Kevin is a bit of a recluse himself preferring solitude and peace to people.  He lives in a swamp where he builds these beautiful sculptures from nothing.  They are so profound and meaningful that he is the hottest thing since sliced bread and everyone wants a piece of Kevin.  He’s a brooder and a loaner that just wants to be left alone.  Until Serena is assigned to work with him to create a book about Kevin Riley and who he is through his art.  She is a photographer that takes beautiful pictures of Kevin as he sculpts his next project.

Unfortunately for both of them, they seem too preoccupied with each other.  Kevin sculpts but he can’t seem to get his mind off of Serena.  And Serena, she is taking pictures of Kevin but the pictures she is capturing – his ass – aren’t really the book worthy kind she needs.  The romance blossoms from there but can Serena let her walls down enough to let Kevin in.  Can Kevin penetrate the facade that Serena has built to protect her and save her from herself and her other demons that continue to lurk from her past?

I really liked this book.  It was a great start to an intense love story.  Both characters were beautifully defined and strongly conveyed.  The author did a great job in providing enough back story to get the reader invested enough to keep reading.  The storyline kept me turning page after intense page  to find out how it all played out.  I was in the dark about who exactly was Serena’s ‘demon’ until it was revealed and that scene was intense enough to make me jump at every noise in my house for the next several pages as it unfolded.  I would give this book a solid 4 stars and would recommend to any of you reading this….please put it on your ‘to read’ list.  It’s worth the time to read it and try out this author if you haven’t before.  I definitely will be looking up her other books and giving her another try.

Tracy Wolff – GREAT JOB on the story and LOVE LOVE LOVE the cover!!!

Review of “Complete Me” by J. Kenner

This third installment begins where book two left off.  Damien is facing a trial in Germany for the murder of his Tennis coach and abuser.  At the end of book two, Nikki had left for Germany and showed up at Damien’s door to tell him she loved him. In this book Damien and Nikki try to remain in the bubble of their love but they are continuously thrown back into reality with a resounding force that tests their resilience and ability to overcome the issues that come up in book three.  In this book, we see how well Nikki can deal with Damien’s past and whether or not their love will survive.

What I loved about this book was the intensity of the love and attraction between Damien and Nikki.  Neither of them can get enough of the other and with that comes an urgency that the reader feels to see these two happy and eventually married (hopefully).  There was some predictability to the book but even though you could predict what happened, it was different because these characters are so different than what we would read in FSOG or the Crossfire series or the like.  I also like that Nikki continuously battles her cutting demons and to me that humanizes her immensely.  She is beautiful but inside she thinks that she is not worthy.

I also liked the continued display of vulnerability of Damien. He is such a strong businessman but he is lovestruck and foolish over Nikki.  This is how any man should be for the love of is life.  Not that their relationship is entirely a healthy one but I for one find myself daydreaming for a love like that.  To know that a man would go to the ends of the earth and put himself in the line of fire for you.  What woman would not swoon over that.  Besides, he’s hotter than hell and so masculine that you can feel the testosterone seeping from each page.

Did I mention he is HOT.

My last severe like for this book and series is that the love scenes are sexy as all get out and made me fan myself several times just to cool down enough to keep reading.

fainting swoon

I say a solid 5 steaming hot stars!  I have and will continue to root for this couple to find the sheer bliss that they deserve.  Can’t wait for book four…is there a book four…golly, I sure hope so!

Review of “Claim Me” by J. Kenner

When I first read “Release Me”, I thought it was just going to be reading a FSOG wanna be.  Boy oh BOY was I wrong.  There is nothing ‘wanna be” be about this series.  The first book was so fabulous, I began to stalk the author page, Amazon, Netgalley and any other site I could find to get the next book “Claim Me”.  Fortunately, Netgalley offered up this book for an honest review and I was fortunate enough to be rewarded with that honor.

“Claim Me” starts off where the first book ended.  The painting finishes as does the so called agreement between Nikki and Damien.  However, neither Nikki nor Damien wants their relationship to end.  It begins to develop into something more like love and affection rather than ownership and sex and each becomes addicted to the other emotionally and physically.  There are some bumpy spots along the way, which I will not spoil by reveling here for those of you that haven’t read it yet but I will tell you, you’ll love all the events and “issues” in the book.

This book was a complete addiction for me.  I could not put it down without a lot of irritation and frustration aimed at the interruption taking me away from my reading.  I loved all the angst and drama in the book.  I saw the back-story for Damien beginning to take shape as the book progressed and I was just as eager as Nikki to learn what his secrets were.  I was not disappointed and there definitely was an element of surprise as to how his history played out.  After learning about this, you get a better sense of why Damien has to be in control and have so much power.  That control and power makes him über sexy and believe it or not extremely easy to fall in love with.

Nikki is innocent yet broken but you begin to see her strengthen in the book and it’s attributed to the safety and security she feels with Damien and his confidence in her.  What I love most about this couple (and this book) is how they believe in the deep down good of each other and that events or histories do not define who they are deep down inside.  Through this book, the author conveys that everyone deserves love and adoration regardless of their histories, past mistakes and bad decisions.

From book one all the way to the end of book two and I suspect book three and beyond (hopefully), you are rooting for this couple to make it.  I had an intense sense of them belonging together and the author conveys that very well from page one of book one where she begins to build such great characters.

The book was well written and flowed very nicely.  There was never a moment where I was not wishing I could read faster so that I could get to the next thing.  But then when I got to the end, I was sad because now I’m done and have to way for book three.  Which, of course I will be stalking all the sites again for a hope to get lucky enough to get this opportunity again.

Thank you to the Netgalley crew! I really enjoy the opportunities you’ve afford me such as this one!
