Entranced by “Ruined” by Tracy Wolff

This is a story about two people with tortured pasts.  One is a young girl struggling to make something of herself despite her poor past and the horrific events that got her to an internship at Frost Industries.  The other is the CEO of Frost Industries who is immediately taken by the young intern, Chloe.

Ethan is HOT, beyond HOT.  WHOA, get a fan and cool yourself down hot.  He is vibrant and strong, gorgeous yet humbly so.  He cares about people and what happens to them.  He’s built one of the most successful companies that uses technology to help people, VA vets most profoundly.  He is very down to earth yet he is the CEO.  Oh, and he is GORGEOUS…did I mention how off the chart hot he is?  What is there NOT to love about this guy.

Chloe is beautiful and catches Ethan’s eye at a smoothy stand in the cafeteria of Frost industries on her first day of internship.  Obviously, her lack of knowledge about what the CEO looks like is her downfall as she doesn’t know that she is arguing about smoothies with the CEO, Ethan Frost.  But Chloe is not interested in dating; not interested in anything having to do with the opposite sex.  She is driven to her goal of being a great Intellectual Property Lawyer and this internship is her key.  She is not going to mess it up by getting involved with any guy and risk the distraction.  But can she resist the pull that Ethan has on her?

I loved this book!  Off the chart, Loved this book.  The secrets are endless and keep you intrigued.  I wish I had the second book RIGHT NOW cuz I just don’t want to wait.  I want to crawl in to Tracy Wolff’s head and find out what the next book will reveal…it was that good.
The sex scenes were INTENSE and the love blossoming between these two was encapsulating.  You couldn’t help but root for these two to finally find each other.  I recommend this book to anyone that loves romance with a healthy dose of sexy love scenes.

I was fortunate enough to receive a copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review…THANK YOU.

Not Regretting “Lost to You” by A.L. Jackson 0.5 Novella to “The Regret Series”

In this novella, we learn how Christian and Elizabeth lost their hearts to each other.  They started out as study buddies but the attraction was more than they could handle.  But the odds are against them simply because of their upbringing.

Elizabeth is soft and kind, growing up in a loving single parent home with her mom and sisters.  She knew and felt love every day. Christian had both parents but they were cold and uncaring when it came to his emotions; his father only caring about his achievements rather than the mental and emotion health of his only son.  Christian’s mother accepted and complied with the coldness her husband had with is son showing the same indifference towards her son for years.

Christian is a player and sleeps around a lot but Elizabeth is different.  Sure, he wants her but there is more and soon studying with her and being her friend is no longer enough.

I really liked this book and author.  In a very short novella, A.L. Jackson portrays loneliness and a desperate need to be loved.  She delivers angst over the connection these two have but are unwilling to act upon simply because they don’t want to ruin what they have.  She perfectly describes the doubt that Elizabeth has in Christian’s ability to love and be monogamous.  As a reader, I felt these emotions and couldn’t wait to see what happened with this couple.  I found myself rooting for them and hoping that Elizabeth would give Christian a chance.

I would give this novella a 4.5 star review.  I encourage anyone who wants to read this series to start with this novella first as it really makes book one that much better having understood the situation better because of the novella.

I think I have to add A.L. Jackson to my favorite authors list.  GREAT story!

Wrecked for “Wrecked” by Priscilla West

This a story about Lorrie who has had much tragedy in her life and that tragedy has been publicly analyzed and talked about since it happened giving Lorrie very little privacy or normalcy.  Lorrie is looking to get back to college and getting to as normal of a college life as she can manage.  She’s not looking for love or a guy or even a date; just the college experience and classes.

But as luck would have it and the fact that Lorrie crossed paths with a rather vocal and shrilling cat; Hunter “The Hammer” literally jumps into her life and want’s to be friends.

Their friendship blooms into more but Lorrie is fighting it with every step convinced that she is just not ready.  That is until Hunter has had enough and Lorrie is feeling the threat of completely losing Hunter.

This is a story about new love and the discovery of this love and the trust that must develop between them.

This book was HOT and fun and emotional, and infuriating in that way where you just want to scream at the stupidity of people just falling in love and the conclusions they jump to.  The story telling was good and the flow was nicely paced.  The love scenes were hot but tasteful and the intensity was YUM.  This was a couple that I could really fall in love with.  They were affectionate and intense for each other and who wouldn’t want that for a new love life.

I would give it a solid 4 star rating and would certainly read another book by Priscilla West.  As a matter of fact, sign me up for book 2 right now because the end of Wrecked has me jonesing for book 2 already.

Sinful “Submit”, Part Seven and Final “Surrender” Part Eight in The Dining Club Series by Marina Anderson

In part seven, Grace is entering her fourth and final trial in order to be accepted and loved by the man she adores and loves…David.  But is it the end…will Grace finally be rid of Amber?

This challenge gives new meaning to control and having control of ones body as Grace quickly learns.  She is tested to the deepest depths and has to contend with Amber and Andrew trying to make her fail.  Andrew because he wants Grace for himself and Amber because she want Grace out of the Dining Club and more importantly out of David’s life.

As before, Grace is apprehensive and fearful of David’s true feelings.  David is as aloof as ever as Grace enters the fourth challenge.

I’m still liking this series and the intensity is getting strong.  I love Grace’s innocence and trepidation as she tries to comes to terms with her new found sexuality and preferences while trying to will David’s affections to appear.   I’m still not liking the pompous ass – David – and his coldness towards Grace.   Just like last time though, I could not wait to read that last part so on I went before writing my review.

Whew, the final Part in this series.  Grace is adamant about challenging Amber at table five with the win meaning that Amber is out of the Dining Club and more importantly out of David’s life for good.  Amber while not pleased about what the challenge means, is determined to succeed anyway.  David loves Grace but is resolved in his belief that he will never be satisfied with one woman and for all time.  Grace is determined to prove him wrong.

I liked the final part.  I liked seeing the strength of Grace come out and that the entire experience has helped her achieve that strength.  I can’t say that I ever warmed up to David but it certainly added an element to the whole story line.  I loved the spoiledness of Amber and the angst she contributed to the book and series.  Amber was the perfect villain.  As the series ended, I found myself feeling sorry for Andrew and hoping that he’d find the love of his life.

I’m sticking with my 4 star rating and saying it’s worth the 30 minutes per part to read through it.  Easy fast reads and great concept.

Intrigued by “Bound’ from Marina Anderson – The Dining Club Part Two

In this book Grace is at The Dining Club and David is explaining the progression through the tables and the rules of the club.  Grace is torn in that she truly loves David but she is not sure that she can do the things that David is asking of her.  As she is escorted around the club and introduced to the staff, David excuses himself for a few moments and leaves Grace with the Twins, Amy and Laura.  Grace is secretly informed by the twins that she is being filmed and needs to pass this mini test.  Grace plays along reluctantly until she relaxes and begins to realize she just might like to relax and just let things happen making one the the twins extremely happy.

Meanwhile, Grace is being watched through the video by the jealous Amber who wants David for herself and Andrew who wants Grace to succeed because he genuinely likes Grace.  The day progresses into the evening and while nervous and apprehensive, Grace continues to the first table and the first challenge.  They get through dinner just fine and they have to make the “dessert” selection. David warns her again that she doesn’t have to choose but it would mean the end for them.  With a little help, she makes a selection.

As “dessert” begins, Grace relaxes and gets into but a little too much.  It becomes clear that while she is enjoying herself the challenge may be more that she can handle, especially when David participates.

I really liked the second installment in the series.  I think the Jealousy that Amber is displaying is going to progress into a very nice villainous character.   I think that will add to the drama and intensity as the series progresses.  I like that Grace is adaptable and willing to explore her sexuality.  Not sure that I like David though, he seems cold and unfeeling.  He’s also quite selfish and seems to be forcing Grace to make a very difficult choice.  I love it and hate it.

I’m liking the series and would say we are still hovering around the 4 star range.  Looking forward to part 3…Crave!
