In the fifth part of the Dining Club, Grace is entering her third trial. In this trial she is competing against one of the twins – Amy – who has a strong endurance. With experience, knowledge and strength on her side, Amy is the sure winner of this challenge with immensely delights Amber, Andrew and…David? Grace is fueled though by her jealousy of Amber and is determined to do what is necessary to keep David’s affections focused on her. David doesn’t play fair thought and excites Grace even before the trial began then teases her to no end.
I found myself becoming less and less of a David fan as this part five played out. His behavior is that of a controlling bastard who doesn’t really know what will satisfy him for the long hall and he is playing with strong emotions in Grace and using them against her. Andrew’s affections continue to grow while Amber’s determination to eliminate Grace from David’s life exponentially grows. Andrew takes matters into his own hands and decides to run into Grace and explain a few things to her. Grace reluctantly invites him up to her flat but doesn’t feel comfortable with this at all.
Personally, I think Grace should tell them all to go to hell and find her Mr. Perfect elsewhere but with that said, I again couldn’t wait for what happened and had to read part six too.
In Part six, David is away on Business and Andrew has taken the opportunity to visit Grace at a pub and discuss David’s past. As Grace learns what she has feared all along, she is angered and enlightened by the revelations from Andrew. David has mixed emotions and is extremely conflicted as to whether or not he wants Grace to be successful in the fourth trial. He goes so far as to purposely tire her out the night before but he does admit – to himself at least – that he was extremely angered and jealous of Andrew’s visit. As they drive to the Dining Club for the trial , he is purposely evasive about the events about to play out. He gives Grace minimal details and has yet to determine if he wants her to succeed or fail.
I like David but hate him too. I think he has a cruelty to him that Grace in her sweetness does not deserve.
I’m still at a solid 4 star and can’t wait to read Part Seven! I’m getting NOTHING done today!
In part three, Grace is going back to the Dining Club to go through her second trial. As the time draws nearer, Grace is informed that she won’t be alone in the second trial. She is informed that last month’s guest must repeat the trial do to employee errors from the previous month. She gets more nervous because of this but soon takes comfort in the fact that she won’t be alone as she breaches her fears and relaxes into the trial. Andrews affections for Grace continues to grow while Amber gains steam in her resolve to end Grace’s time at the Club through ensuring Grace fails. “Crave ends halfway through her second trial so I must say that I read on to part four because I just couldn’t wait long enough to write this review.
I’m getting more engaged in the characters of the series and find myself rooting for Grace’s success through all four trials even though I continue to believe that David remains aloof and unaffectionate towards Grace as she is struggling to try and understand what is happening and what will happen next. Her ignorance in this lifestyle increases her apprehension to continue and he does nothing (in my opinion) to calm her.
Still at a 4 star as we get through this third part.
This was the book I had been waiting for in this series and I am soooooo happy to say I was NOT disappointed. First of all a HUMUNGOUS thank you to Netgalley for affording me the opportunity to read this book for an honest review.
This is the love story of Eric Sticks – the Drummer of Sinners – The hottest band ever with hottest guys ever! And Eric just happens to be my favorite.
Eric is the watcher up to this point. He has watched Trey, Jace, Brian and Sed for months. In their sexual escapade and falling in love. He is Shy and adorable, fun loving and a goof ball. AND – Sexy as hell.
When Rebekah takes over on sound for Dave her older brother as he recovers from the bus accident, she is hell bent to get close to Trey because her huge crush won’t let her see anyone else. However, the moment that Eric sees her, he is lovestruck and will do anything, including playing second fiddle to Trey to get a piece of Rebekah. But that doesn’t last forever and he is bound to make Rebekah his and only his. Eric overcomes his shy shell and takes the woman he wants and loves.
I loved this book and have to say next to Brian and Myrna, Eric and Rebekah is my next favorite romance. I loved how the author played off of Eric’s shyness and inability to “seal the deal’ to build the strength in the relationship between these two adorable characters. The voyeurism that Eric needed was perfectly fulfilled by Rebekah and I LOVED the Bunk scene and how it played out.
I’m giving this a super fantastic 5 stars and highly recommend this book and series to anyone that loves Rock bands and the intense love stories that are conveyed by this wonderful author. I challenge anyone to not fall in love with Eric Sticks! Go ahead…I dare you!
This is a story about a woman coming to terms with her tragic past and facing her demons. She does this by moving forward with her life while still being dragged back into her past involuntarily. Serena is a survivor. She is strong to a fault and tries to ensure that she only needs to block out her emotions and fears and not let anyone close enough to break through the shield that she has built around her heart and secure inner sanctum. That inner sanctum is about to come tumbling around her as her next assignment is supper Hot sculptor Keven Riley.
Kevin is a bit of a recluse himself preferring solitude and peace to people. He lives in a swamp where he builds these beautiful sculptures from nothing. They are so profound and meaningful that he is the hottest thing since sliced bread and everyone wants a piece of Kevin. He’s a brooder and a loaner that just wants to be left alone. Until Serena is assigned to work with him to create a book about Kevin Riley and who he is through his art. She is a photographer that takes beautiful pictures of Kevin as he sculpts his next project.
Unfortunately for both of them, they seem too preoccupied with each other. Kevin sculpts but he can’t seem to get his mind off of Serena. And Serena, she is taking pictures of Kevin but the pictures she is capturing – his ass – aren’t really the book worthy kind she needs. The romance blossoms from there but can Serena let her walls down enough to let Kevin in. Can Kevin penetrate the facade that Serena has built to protect her and save her from herself and her other demons that continue to lurk from her past?
I really liked this book. It was a great start to an intense love story. Both characters were beautifully defined and strongly conveyed. The author did a great job in providing enough back story to get the reader invested enough to keep reading. The storyline kept me turning page after intense page to find out how it all played out. I was in the dark about who exactly was Serena’s ‘demon’ until it was revealed and that scene was intense enough to make me jump at every noise in my house for the next several pages as it unfolded. I would give this book a solid 4 stars and would recommend to any of you reading this….please put it on your ‘to read’ list. It’s worth the time to read it and try out this author if you haven’t before. I definitely will be looking up her other books and giving her another try.
Tracy Wolff – GREAT JOB on the story and LOVE LOVE LOVE the cover!!!
First let me mention…I love love love Eden Bradley books!!!
This is really a couple of stories in one book with a common theme of the Exotica resort. It begins when two college girlfriends reconnect after one of them goes through a divorce. Lilli has been recently divorced and her friend invites her to come to a resort that she manages saying it is the perfect ticket to get her back in the game. Lilli’s companion for the week long stay is hot and hunky Rajan who happens to be very knowledgeable about Kama Sutra – Lucky Lilli. Lilli tries for the whole week to convince herself that this is just sex and fun; that there is nothing meaningful going on between her and Rajan. She believes that the only reason that Rajan is saying the things he says to her is because of his job when in fact Rajan is falling just as hard for Lilli. And so the wonderful story begins.
Lilli’s college friend Caroline manages the Exotica resort including the hiring of new “companions”. Caroline is feeling down and out lately and Lilli convinces her that taking advantage of her new themed suite – Arabian Nights – and the new companion hired for that theme is just the thing that Caroline needs. Caroline is apprehensive about this but takes a leap of faith and decides to heed her friends advice. Kian is the new companion about to rock Caroline’s world but he has some secrets of his own which may threaten to tear these two apart before they even get started.
I loved this book. Absolutely fascinating storyline and concept. I love how Eden creates broken women characters who are really strong underneath and they just need a little encouragement from the right man to bring it out. Personally, I liked Lilli’s story the best but both were superbly written. The emotions were heartfelt, the sex scenes were hotter than all get out and the male characters were exotic and hunky.
Definitely worth the read! 4 super steamy stars!
This third installment begins where book two left off. Damien is facing a trial in Germany for the murder of his Tennis coach and abuser. At the end of book two, Nikki had left for Germany and showed up at Damien’s door to tell him she loved him. In this book Damien and Nikki try to remain in the bubble of their love but they are continuously thrown back into reality with a resounding force that tests their resilience and ability to overcome the issues that come up in book three. In this book, we see how well Nikki can deal with Damien’s past and whether or not their love will survive.
What I loved about this book was the intensity of the love and attraction between Damien and Nikki. Neither of them can get enough of the other and with that comes an urgency that the reader feels to see these two happy and eventually married (hopefully). There was some predictability to the book but even though you could predict what happened, it was different because these characters are so different than what we would read in FSOG or the Crossfire series or the like. I also like that Nikki continuously battles her cutting demons and to me that humanizes her immensely. She is beautiful but inside she thinks that she is not worthy.
I also liked the continued display of vulnerability of Damien. He is such a strong businessman but he is lovestruck and foolish over Nikki. This is how any man should be for the love of is life. Not that their relationship is entirely a healthy one but I for one find myself daydreaming for a love like that. To know that a man would go to the ends of the earth and put himself in the line of fire for you. What woman would not swoon over that. Besides, he’s hotter than hell and so masculine that you can feel the testosterone seeping from each page.
Did I mention he is HOT.
My last severe like for this book and series is that the love scenes are sexy as all get out and made me fan myself several times just to cool down enough to keep reading.
I say a solid 5 steaming hot stars! I have and will continue to root for this couple to find the sheer bliss that they deserve. Can’t wait for book four…is there a book four…golly, I sure hope so!
First I will start off by saying that I loved this storyline. Yes, it was a story about prostitution and that has been done time and again but this author took this book down a somewhat different path. I found myself wanting to continue even though there were many times while reading that I was scratching my head trying to make sense of the sentence/paragraph I just read.
I will also say that I did not read the book that preceded this one so I may have been missing some of the story line because of that. Although, I don’t think that had anything to do with the sentences that just seemed to be out of left field.
I really liked the two main characters Shelly, a high priced prostitute trying to get out of the business and Luke a cop with some very interesting and troubling secrets that make him the perfect match for Shelly.
I also liked “Ella” who is tough and you could literally see the chip on her shoulder while reading about her. I also liked her reaction to Phillip and can see book three in this series.
The book has Henri, the villain. He is nasty and mean and just plain ruthless. There are other villains in the book but no spoilers from me.
The confusing parts.
The title – not sure I get the selling out part of the story. I don’t think I would have named this book that. And the picture on the cover does not in anyway describe the book.
And as I stated before, there were some points in the book that I was left wondering what I missed or where that came from because it made no sense whatsoever to the sentence before it.
This books was like your typical love/hate thing for me. It really is a great story and had great characters that you wanted to read about and find out what happened. But it took me A LOT longer to read this book because of the frustration of trying to make sense of the sentence or paragraph that I just read.
