Review of “Complete Me” by J. Kenner

This third installment begins where book two left off.  Damien is facing a trial in Germany for the murder of his Tennis coach and abuser.  At the end of book two, Nikki had left for Germany and showed up at Damien’s door to tell him she loved him. In this book Damien and Nikki try to remain in the bubble of their love but they are continuously thrown back into reality with a resounding force that tests their resilience and ability to overcome the issues that come up in book three.  In this book, we see how well Nikki can deal with Damien’s past and whether or not their love will survive.

What I loved about this book was the intensity of the love and attraction between Damien and Nikki.  Neither of them can get enough of the other and with that comes an urgency that the reader feels to see these two happy and eventually married (hopefully).  There was some predictability to the book but even though you could predict what happened, it was different because these characters are so different than what we would read in FSOG or the Crossfire series or the like.  I also like that Nikki continuously battles her cutting demons and to me that humanizes her immensely.  She is beautiful but inside she thinks that she is not worthy.

I also liked the continued display of vulnerability of Damien. He is such a strong businessman but he is lovestruck and foolish over Nikki.  This is how any man should be for the love of is life.  Not that their relationship is entirely a healthy one but I for one find myself daydreaming for a love like that.  To know that a man would go to the ends of the earth and put himself in the line of fire for you.  What woman would not swoon over that.  Besides, he’s hotter than hell and so masculine that you can feel the testosterone seeping from each page.

Did I mention he is HOT.

My last severe like for this book and series is that the love scenes are sexy as all get out and made me fan myself several times just to cool down enough to keep reading.

I say a solid 5 steaming hot stars!  I have and will continue to root for this couple to find the sheer bliss that they deserve.  Can’t wait for book four…is there a book four…golly, I sure hope so!

Review of “Connected” by Kim Karr

Wow! What a profoundly emotional book that just gets you believing in love at first sight, soul mates, wishes coming true and of course the art of animalistic attraction.

This book had me feeling the gamut of emotions in my repertoire.  I was electrically charged when Dahlia first meets River, intensely sad right along with Dahlia as she ventures through the several years of her journey that will lead her back to River.  I was elated when they connected again.  Of course I was angry at some of the events that occurred in the book, especially by the epilogue which led me to a little bit of hatred and an intense desire to smack the crap out of her past lover.

I loved these characters.  River is what every girl in the world would want in a soul mate.  He loves Dahlia deeply at first site and doesn’t get macho on her and deny it.  He is intense in the way he loves her and only wants her happiness, which shows in his ability to understand her love of another and what he can do to make her love again.

Dahlia is a survivor.  She is strong and confident in herself but she is broken when she thinks all is lost.  She has lived a life of many tragedies and has come out of each a little more broken than before but she never gives up.  She gets up each day and tries to put her life back together.  In the process, she reconnects with River and he fixes pieces of her soul that she never thought could be found much less fixed.

As I said before, the emotions are intense in this book and make you want to lock yourself in a room so that you can read this without interruption for hours and hours until you’re done.  The book flows nicely, of course the timelines at the beginning of each chapter help a lot with that .  I loved the correlation to the songs in the playlist that Kim Karr took the time to put together to enhance the reader’s experience.  The time this must have taken might be lost to some but I for one very much appreciate the ability to listen to a song that the author was thinking of as she wrote the chapter. I think it helped me immensely in just connecting that much more with the words written.

Kim Karr, I love your book!  If all of your books are like this, sign me up cuz I will stand in line to be the first to get them!!

Review of “REAL” by Katy Evans

OH. MY. GOD!!!!!

This book had me entranced just by looking at word one and still hasn’t loosened its hold on me after reading it…twice!  I was so enthralled by this book that I read it in a day and turned right back to page one and read it again!
TI thought the characters were phenomenal.  You have Remy – an absolute sex God that will be in my dreams for a long time coming.  He’s hot, an MMA fighter and the complexity in him has you dying to figure out everything about him.  What is there NOT to love, I ask you.

Then you have Brooke who is just so darn adorable that you can’t help but feel the intensity of Remy’s reaction to her at first sight.  She is beautiful, strong, and has a fighter’s spirit, just like Remy.  I questioned her intelligence when she thought that Remy wouldn’t find out what she did but we all do stupid stuff when we’re in love so I overlooked it.  She has endured a lot in her life that makes her able to take whatever Remy dishes out and be his REAL.

The intensity between Brooke and Remy is off the chart, making each page a so hot that you don’t want to burn your fingers.  The love scenes were off the chart hot, sizzling, blistering, boiling, burning!
This was a true love story that I could read again and again.  There were points in the book that I thought were a bit too unrealistic but it’s a romance and to me, the book lived up to it.

I would give this a super hot 5 stars.  Can’t wait to read more about Remy and Brooke in the next book.  When is it coming out again?
